For Tomorrow (6/26):

Bring list project (see previous post for details) and be prepared to share.

For Monday* (6/28):

• Create one self portrait and place it in the class Google Drive (sent via email). Be prepared to talk about your creative decisions.

• Look at the “Seeing Themselves” article for more inspiration related to both images and descriptions of the images.

• Bring cyanotypes to class to discuss.

• Read pages 87-111 in The Critique Handbook. Take notes. In your notes, please answer:

  • Have you participated in a discussion about artwork that was labeled as a “critique”?

  • If so, what did that look/sound/feel like?

  • How did the examples of critique styles in the text differ from your experience?

  • What are the multiple (generalized) personalities that may show up in a critique? Ex. the drill sergeant.

*Sunday is your first “day off” after a very long week. Please definitely have your photograph and cyanotypes prepared, and do your best at covering the reading materials. Sunday is also a day where rest will be needed. Please remember to take the time you may require to care for yourself so that we can sustain our energy for the entire 5 weeks.
